Ty Williams Reelected as BRAC Chair as 2026 Brokerage Discussions Begin
Ty Williams reelected presiding officer, or chair, of the Texas Real Estate Commission’s Broker Responsibility Advisory Committee, a meaningful vote of confidence as the committee begins another year of work on issues that directly affect brokers across Texas.
At its first meeting of 2026, BRAC opened discussion on several topics shaping day-to-day brokerage practice. Those included the role of transaction coordinators, the use of showing agents for open houses, how teams and team leads are identified, and the responsibility of designated brokers for business entities. Many of these issues sit right at the center of compliance, supervision, and practical brokerage operations.
The meeting also reflected the committee’s continuing role in helping shape future Broker Responsibility Course material, which means the conversations happening now may influence how brokers are trained and guided going forward.
Williams’ reelection comes alongside Brian Sales as assistant presiding officer and Marion Napoleon as secretary. Together, the committee is moving into 2026 with continuity and a full agenda.
Additional topics requested for future discussion include intermediary requirements involving business entities with the same designated broker, how long a license may remain inactive, and the continuing education standards tied to maintaining or reactivating an inactive license.
